Whatever breakfast you choose, it is very helpful to start your day with warm water and lemon juice, if you can. This helps your digestive system “wake up”.
Another thing I like to do is make sure I have fruit in the morning. Some of these recipes incorporate fruit but if they don’t, please have some fruit before you have your breakfast. (Oranges, Strawberries and Blueberries are all tasting really good right now!)
If you’re in a hurry and need a hands-off breakfast – Jump down to “NON-COOKS” at the bottom of this page.
SMOOTHIES
OVERNIGHT OATS/CHIA PUDDING
Oatmeal is full of iron, but in order to absorb it, we need to have vitamin C with it. Make sure you have some fruit in your oatmeal or with it.
BREAD-TYPE BREAKFAST OPTIONS

Banana Carrot Bread SUB BANANA BREAD
SAVORY BREAKFAST OPTIONS

Avocado Toast, 5 ways – Make it gluten free with this Almond Flour Bread or this Seed Bread. Also very good on Ezekiel bread, toasted.

Breakfast Burrito Make it gluten free by using this Quinoa Flat bread and make it a “fold over” instead of a wrap, or use your favorite gluten free tortilla (watch the ingredients!)
NON-COOKS
SMOOTHIES

Live Pure Smoothie Cubes – available at Sprouts (there is a chocolate version too, but 2x the calories!)
OATS/PUDDINGS

Mush Overnight Oats – available at Sprouts (there are other flavors available too)
Another option is PLAIN Yogurt with Fruit and 2 Tablespoons of Granola, add a piece of whole grain toast. But I must say, it doesn’t get much easier than the overnight oats!
BREAD ITEMS

I LOVE Nuttzo on Ezekiel Bread* (toasted) – It is my go-to brunch. I always have it with a piece of fruit. If you haven’t tried Nuttzo, it’s FABULOUS. A delicious, organic nut butter that has 7 grains and seeds. I always get the ORGANIC version (I believe there are other versions, so pay attention) and I try to get it at Costco, because it isn’t cheap and Costco has the best price!
True confessions… I am not much of a breakfast person. I usually have a piece of fruit and tea in the morning, and I have soy milk in my tea, so I’m usually not hungry for breakfast. So, that is why my Nuttzo on Ezekiel Bread is so great. I have it around 11 or 11:30 and it is a bridge between breakfast and lunch!
SAVORY

Amy’s Tofu Scramble Breakfast Burrito available at Whole Foods – This is better than most but still not as good as your own ingredients.
Avocado Toast or a Breakfast Burrito that you would make yourself are ALMOST non-cook items. You can make them as simple as you like!
*Ezekiel has gluten-free products as well as non-gluten-free (is that a term?) I only see that the gluten-free are available at Mother’s Market and Whole Foods, and I only see the gluten-free English Muffins, but those would be great for avocado toast OR my beloved Nuttzo. I have not tried the gluten-free, but I love all of the other Ezekiel products and the gluten-free ingredients IN THE ENGLISH MUFFINS are “clean”. I’m not AS thrilled with the gluten-free bread ingredients… better than most, but still some fillers that I’m not crazy about.
